I have been looking for a true vaccum canister for coffee and this is exactly what I wanted.Pros:Metal body, opaque cover, manual vacuum pump, a true vacuum sealCons:My only concern is the longevity of the rubber vacuum indicator. (nitpicking)Discussion:Light and air erode coffee bean quality. This canister blocks virtually, if not all, light. The canister body is metal and it is easy to keep clean. The lid is hard plastic, similar in material to desktop computer bodies.Any metal can blocks light; however, what sets this cannister apart is the vaccum. After filling the canister with coffee and placing on the lid, the coffee connisour pumps out all the air. Yes, it works. I have pumped out the air and it has remained sealed for several days.My only concern is the rubber vacuum indicator. It works well, but with all the changing air pressures and stress from the pressure changes, its longevity is unclear. But I'm nitpicking a great product.I would certainly buy it again and I would recommend any coffee lover to buy one.The perfect combination of great coffee and positive message as per the product descriptionreally works for me. I’m a morning person and to start my day I need my favorite cup of joe witha good thought. Before using this I used other coffee containers but with the external pump to extract all the airinside, creating a vacuum. This is when the air is actively pumped out of the container. This onehas a built-in pump in the lid itself. For me this is better than a regular storage device.I would definitely buy more of these if I needed to store other dry items. It’s also useful to storein the refrigerator or freezer as well as at room temperature. I also like the added touch of thedate dial on top of the canister to set and know exactly when you sealed the canister. This product does exactly what it describes, it vents the CO2 which is quite nice. It keeps my coffee beans smelling nice and fresh. The container is large enough and could easily handle more than half a pound of coffee or tea. The system it uses makes the container airtight, and is easy to open and close. When I pick it up by the lid, I can feel the suction meaning that it’s not allowing any air to escape or enter the container, which is what I want. I have not smelled or tasted any changes in the quality of my coffee. It's a good vacuum seal. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is to go to the kitchen and make the coffee.I think this canister is absolutely brilliant because now, the first thing I read in the morning is: "Today will be Amazing", a message that instantly gives me energy and a positive thought, and together with coffee, a perfect start of the day. Also, after a week of use, I notice that the flavor of the coffee is good. I feel the difference from the container in which I kept the coffee before.I like my canister very much. Good job!I love that this has the pump to suck the air out. I travel a lot for work, so my “good coffee” is my treat to myself when I’m home. So nice to be able to keep my beans fresh while I’m away! This is a little embarrassing, but it took me a bit to figure out how to reopen the container after I sealed it. There is a little, flat, white stopper valve in the middle of the vacuum hole. Just pull it up to break the seal.It cost too much, but it does what it needs to. Very easy to open, and easy to reseal pulling a vacuum with the little pump. It holds the vacuum well, but I've only owned it for three weeks. If it keeps working, well then, it's a winner. I keep my coffee beans in it and it keeps them fresh longer. I grind my beans as I use them, so I'm into the little can at least once a day.I needed a decent pump to replace an old cast-iron single-cylinder, and this fit the bill. It's not extremely heavily-made, but it is adequate for light use. I run it with a 2HP motor with quite a belt reduction, and it works great. It's very quiet, with two intake mufflers. It uses splash lubrication, and has a nice sight glass for the oil level. It's all aluminum, and is thus very light weight. It has a functional cooler mounted on the cross-pipe between the two compressor heads. Overall, you can't beat it for the price and performance level.I bought this to replace the one that I had connected to an old hundred pound propane tank. It well fill the tank to 100 pounds plus a lot faster than my old pump. I am running it with a one and a half horsepower motor. I'm just a homeowner the only thing I really use the compressor for use to air up a tire and run my air impact.
