I bought this prior to having hip replacement surgery to ensure I could use my laptop comfortably. I have an adjustable base bed and so it worked great for the post op recovery and I still use it all the time for the same purpose. It would work well for eating in bed, but I have not actually done that!In an unexpected turn that required home health care for a family member, this piece has been invaluable to their comfort. Heavy duty base, lighter weight plastic top is easy to clean, although I wish the top was a bit more sturdy.Overall, I'd highly recommend this piece.This tray looks great but to maneuver the tray up and down is a nightmare since day one! Do yourself a favor and INVEST in something that actually functions well and suits your needsThis table was very easy to assemble, and after using it for a week I am very pleased with its sturdiness and functionality. It is considerably sturdier, it actually works as it should and is stronger and can hold more weight, plus it has a much better base setup. Too bad it is difficult to find and is discontinued by the supplier.This side table is used on a daily basis at a retirement home. We have bought other side tables and this one is the best so far. Very easy to keep clean and the white table top will blend with any decor. The lever to adjust the height adjustability is easy to use, very functional and durable. Highly recommended for the price.
