The kids (4.5 and 7) love this bed, especially the top canopy. It took me about four hours to put together with them "helping".I didn't want to spend much on a bed since I suspect the kids will outgrow it and, being 6'-3", generally don't like footboards on beds. This bed met that criteria. I also like that the full allows space for all of us to read and the top separates for when he's a teenager and no longer wants a bunk bed.Concerns:1) not all the holes were drilled. Requiring me to get out the drill to complete.2) it's touch (aka impossible) to get all the inexpensive wood to align nicely. This leaves some gaps most adults would notice but kids don't care about3) the hardware they included is pretty cheap and difficult to screw in 100%. My concern is kids passing a hand or foot over the screw and scratching themselves. I was able to mitigate the risk though extra effort and time but it would be easy for the manufacturer to factor this in, such as pre-drilling the bed posts with space for the screws to recess.Overall, for $550 we got a good deal but it's a $550 bunk bed. I'd buy it agin for a kids bedroom where it will likely get destroyed by the kids in 10 years. My kids love this bed! It's a sturdy well made bunk bed. It took my husband and I four hours to assemble it. It was not the easiest, and you ABSOLUTELY have to have at least two adults working on it. The instructions were sometimes a bit ambiguous and mostly pictures without worded instructions, but we got it done and it's solid! We have been using it for a year now with no complaints. The tent/canopy on top is a big hit and has no damage.Oh my gosh- such a GREAT value! In the grand scheme of things, it was easy to assemble with two people. Solid wood, no missing parts, everything fit. We were concerned that all the pieces looked thin and would it be sturdy, but this thing is rock solid when it's completed. So so so pleased with this bed, and so is our little guy!Horrible bed. We haven't had it even 2 years and we have spent so much money on buying hard wood to fix this bed to keep it safe for the kids. The tent poles have snapped with months of having it. The support wooden beams have almost all snapped under both beds and just recently the wooden support between the head board and food board snapped today while he was getting into bed. Keep in mind my boys are 4 and 5 year olds. It is made with very cheap wood. Not worth spending 500 dollars on it then spending extra money on mattress and sheets etc. This bed is amazing! It's a good solid wood bed and my son is so in love it! Deal of a lifetime. Couldn't be happier with it.As advertised, though took longer to ship than expected (not sure if this was the seller's issue or FedEx). My kid loves this bed.My son absolutely loves this bed - put it together in two days and it's pretty sturdy.Perfect for our son! Such a nice piece of furniture!
